The SK FIBER Lite Revolution I scored another win when the reigning senior world champion, Frank Miller defeated Gerry James 358 yards – 343 yards in the match-play finals of Long Drive Association’s season-opener “2008 Desert Launch”. Miller, who resides in Covina, Calif., pocketed $5,000 for his second LDA Tour title. Ironically, he had outgunned James at the 2007 Texas Shootout in Dallas for his first career win and has been using the SK FIBER Lite Revolution I golf shaft ever sense.
Miller Wins Re/Max World Long Drive Championship Senior Division
The Re/Max World Long Drive Championship (WLDC) held its final competition of 2007 on October 27 at the Palms Golf Club in Mesquite, Nevada. A new champion was crowned in each division. Frank Miller defeated Pat Dempsey to claim the Senior Division title and Mike Dobby out drove Brooks Baldwin for the Open Division title.
The Senior Division Championship came down to Miller facing off with Pat Dempsey, Senior Division WLDC winner in 2002, in the final competition. Each competitor would hit six balls, with Miller leading off the round, he hit a drive of 355 yards and two balls out-of-bounds. Dempsey followed and hit his first two balls out-of-bounds. His third attempt sailed to the 366-yard marker. With the pressure on, Miller kaboomed his next drive 394 yards and Dempsey was not able to keep his shots inside the grid. Miller claimed his first Senior Division WLDC crown and a $35,000 check. Frank used the SK FIBER Lite Revolution shaft and a Cobra Head to hit the winning drive 394 yards. The Lite Revolution is a lightweight, low to mid torque shaft designed with a reinforced tip section that is made to endure aggressive swing speeds. It’s targeted for the low to mid handicapper with swing speeds in the 95-115 MPH range.
Congratulations Frank and thanks for choosingSK FIBER performance golf club shafts.
